Parasols Paladin - Kettal

Paladin is a wooden parasol for domestic and public use. Its fabric appears to be floating on an elegantly shaped mast. The design employs a mechanical principle that incorporates the tension of the fabric into its structural logic. With only the mast and four movable supports, the fabric absorbs the tensile forces of the parasol when it is deployed.
The mast passes right through the center of the fabric, leaving a central hole that acts as an indirect skylight and allows air circulation.
The wooden elements are made of natural teak with a reinforcing aluminum core. Aluminum and stainless steel mechanical joints and fasteners are designed to minimize the use of materials and offer maximum comfort.
